Martin Cotter

Martin Cotter

Martin started his career over 30 years ago as a financial adviser with a large insurance company, and founded the current company based on referrals and recommendations from satisfied clients and professional connections.

He realised early on that as well as excellent customer service, technical expertise is essential. Throughout his career, he has continued to update his qualifications and became one of the first Chartered Financial Planners in the UK. He has since gone on to achieve Fellowship of the Personal Finance Society (FPFS).

Jon Hussey

Jon Hussey

Jon specialises in the high net worth client advice sector.

Jon is qualified to Dip PFS level and has been in the industry in senior positions since the early 1990s. He is a qualified Financial Adviser who previously owned his own successful advisory firm and joined Lumin Wealth in 2015.

Neville Pereira

Neville Pereira

Neville takes a holistic approach to advising clients and specialises in the pre and post retirement arena including estate planning. He is qualified to DipPFS level.

After graduating with an honours degree in law and completing his Legal Practice Course, Neville entered the financial world working for a leading brokerage in the City. A dedicated and results-driven senior executive, Neville has over 30 years of financial planning and management experience.

Neville has worked as a Regional Director for a top 10 chartered accountancy firm and joined Lumin from Lubbock Fine Wealth Management where he was an equity partner and responsible for the management of the business and over £140M of funds under advice. He has also been nominated by a leading industry magazine as one of the top 100 advisers in the UK.

Geoff Buckland

Geoff Buckland

Geoff has been advising individuals for nearly 25 years and has an excellent understanding of Financial Planning, specialising in pensions, investments and estate planning.

Over the years he has developed a flair for helping individuals to identify their financial goals and explaining often complex solutions in ways that are easily understood, giving clients the confidence that they need to take action. Geoff is qualified to Chartered level.

Donia Dimov

Donia Dimov

Donia specialises in long-term financial planning, helping clients organise their wealth and plan for the retirement they want, while maximising tax efficiency.

Donia started her financial services career in New Zealand, where she worked as a Client Adviser in a Financial Planning business in Christchurch. Once in the UK, she spent 8 years on the corporate side of the industry in companies like Scottish Life, Skandia and Old Mutual.

Donia has Master’s degrees in both History and in Marketing as well as financial planning qualifications from both New Zealand and UK and is nearing her Chartership.

Jeremy Smith

Jeremy is a service-led adviser who builds long term relationships to provide clients with complete financial advice.

Jeremy started his career as an institutional equity salesman with over 25 years’ experience working with global banks. He has a degree in accounting and finance and has qualified in a Diploma in Financial Planning.

Toby Davidson

Toby Davidson

Toby joined Lumin in March 2018 and focuses upon high value and complex Life Insurance for Corporates and Private Clients.

Prior to joining Lumin he spent the previous six years helping grow and develop a boutique Insurance Brokerage that became a market leader for Key Person Insurance, Share Purchase Insurance and IHT mitigation.

Toby’s particular specialism is working with Private Equity firms, Hedge Funds, Asset Managers and SMEs to insure their key people.

Toby started his career as a British Army Officer (Coldstream Guards). He served for nine years, including operational tours to Afghanistan and Iraq.

Toby has a degree in Business Management from Birmingham University as well as being a graduate from The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

Sarah manages the day to day running of the business including accounts, compliance and processes.

Sarah trained as a chartered accountant at Deloitte. During her four years there she specialised in pension audit with specific focus on pension scheme regulation and the valuation of investment assets within a pension. Following this, she joined Lumin Wealth Management in the role of company accountant and has since attained her Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.

Emily’s role includes company accounting and overseeing new business.

Emily came to Lumin as a Level 3 AAT (Advanced Accounting) apprentice and has since qualified to Level 3 and 4 AAT. She has now started her CIMA qualification which will make her a chartered management accountant.

Emily has successfully combined her roles in the client services team and the finance team and quickly worked her way up to management level.

Charlotte’s role includes technical research, client admin, report writing and annual reviews.

Charlotte works directly with Martin’s clients as part of the paraplanning team. She joined Lumin after working as a production assistant and deciding she wanted to be a part of the finance industry.

Charlotte is half-way through her exams and will qualify with a Certificate in Paraplanning.

Jeffrey Galabuzi

Jeffrey is part of the paraplanning team covering technical research, report writing, annual reviews and client administration.

He previously worked in the banking industry in a compliance/administration role, however his ambition was to have a more hands-on role within the wealth management area. Today, he works directly with Neville’s clients.

Jeffrey has a degree in business economics and is currently working towards his Level 4 diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.

Louise’s role includes report writing, client admin, technical research, and annual reviews.

Louise works directly with Donia and Jeremy’s clients as part of the paraplanning team and is their point of contact.

She has a strong customer services background and joined Lumin after working in roles at the Air Business Mail Distribution Company and Ford Credit. She has a great knowledge of client services and has built up a good relationship with her clients over the past three years.

Jade acts as a point of contact for clients, covering client administration, technical research and report writing.

She works directly with Jon Hussey’s clients as part of the paraplanning team and is their point of contact. She previously worked at LV= as a Customer Service Team Manager and after four years decided to further her skills and knowledge within the financial services industry. She joined Lumin with the aim of becoming a qualified paraplanner.

Jade is working towards her Certificate in Paraplanning and has completed four exams since joining Lumin.

Lara works alongside the client services team dealing with client queries, technical research and report writing.

After spending many years working in retail and hospitality as an assistant manager, Lara decided she wanted to pursue a career in finance and is currently studying towards her paraplanner qualifications.  She joined us in 2018.

She is very hard working, and saw Lumin as the perfect opportunity to build a professional career and develop her skills and knowledge.

Carol Trask

Carol provides advice on technical pensions issues, and manages the firm’s lifetime cashflow planning service.

Carol is qualified to DipPFS level and is a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. Carol provides support to all the advisers on the technical aspects of pensions, particularly to clients who have defined benefit scheme entitlements.

She is trained as a financial adviser and specialises in pensions, and previously provided advice to trustees of defined benefit pension schemes.

Alexandra is responsible for a number of accounting areas, including data entry.

Alexandra is a trainee accountant working directly under Emily. Alexandra is in charge of data entry, petty cash, filing and ad hoc tasks.

Alexandra studied for her Finance degree in Romania where she specialised in management. Moving to London, she then obtained a book-keeping degree with ICB and has since joined Lumin as an AAT apprentice working towards her Level 3 AAT qualification (Advanced Accounting).

Managing Director

John manages business development and is very hands on with the investment side of the business.

He has over 15 years’ experience in fixed income markets, equity markets, hedge funds and private equity. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG before moving to UBS, and then took the role of Managing Director at Dresdner Bank, London in 1998. John was part of the private equity group that acquired Pearl Group Limited in December 2004 and held a number of senior directorial posts in that business.

Whilst at Pearl Group, John founded Axial Investment Management Limited which managed in excess of £4bn of insurance company and pension fund assets. John held the positions of CEO, CIO and CFO at various times within Axial.

George acts as an advisor to the Board, coaching the COO, assisting with acquisitions and governance.

George qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG and worked as a Director in their corporate finance team.

In 2006 he joined a mid-market Private Equity fund where he worked for 10 years investing in UK services businesses.

Mike heads up the investment committee and writes our quarterly investment review.

He has more than 28 years’ experience of investment markets, starting as a research analyst in 1989 before managing his first fund in 1994.

He was appointed joint Head of Equities at Friends Ivory before moving in 2005 to M&G Investments as Head of UK Retail Equities and manager of the UK Select fund.

At the time that he was forced to take an extended leave of absence through ill health in 2008, he was described as ‘one of the UK’s most respected fund managers.’

Zak Armstrong

Zak runs a range of technical operations within the company, focusing on investments and trading.

Zak joined Lumin Wealth in 2013, originally working on back office systems and internal analytics. Since then Zak has developed his skills with his main role now focussing on investments analytics and trading. He is currently studying towards his math degree with the Open University.

Steven Cohen

Stevens responsibilities include reviewing current and prospective investments, trading, macro reporting and bespoke client performance reporting.

Steven worked previously as a paraplanner as well as managing in-house model portfolios and completing month-end accounting. He joined Lumin after deciding he wanted to pursue a career in investments.

Steven holds a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and a certificate in Discretionary Investment Management. Whilst at Lumin Steven will be working towards his Investment Management Certificate.
